Kentucky Thoroughbred
December 2006

It is with sincere respect and many many thanks that KSAIW dedicate our December’s Thoroughbred spotlight to a person that we have never met face to face but has done so very much for us (Kentucky) and several of our sister associations……..

Beth Roy is such a terrific, kind and generous woman. She has spent her life helping and taking care of other people. She does most of this without any expectations of praise or recognition. And, she does it willingly and with a giving spirit.

Beth & Her Daughters

Beth attended Jackson College of Ministries in the 80's, where she met her husband, Greg. They spent the first few years of their life together in Greg's hometown in Arkansas. While in Arkansas, Beth worked at a Pediatrician's office and volunteered for their church. Not wanting to be so far away from her family, they decided to make a move back to her hometown, Cincinnati, OH. They moved back totally on faith. They trusted that God would provide. And, He did.

Greg worked two jobs and finally got a position with his current employer, Hubert Company. Beth took a position as a Personal Lines Rater at The Cincinnati Insurance Companies. Being such a great worker, she quickly took a more challenging position within the Personal Lines Department. And, it wasn't long before she was awarded with a top honor in the company, the ABC award. Beth received this award in recognition of her devotion to the company and her great attitude in performing her job duties. She was also recognized for going "Above and Beyond" for her department. It wasn't long before Beth was recommended for one of the top Administrative Assistant positions in the company. And, while Beth did not necessarily have secretarial experience, her new boss hired her for her ability to manage and coordinate many tasks, as well as being able to organize. Besides, he saw something in her that he knew he wanted his department to project...a willing spirit and great service to others.

Beth was an excellent addition to the company's Sales & Marketing Department. While working her way up in the company, Beth continued to serve her community by volunteering at her church. She felt called to work with the children of her congregation and coordinated events, such as Vacation Bible School, as well as teaching Sunday School and leading Kids Church. She also helped develop the church's Kids Choir.

Beth was an asset to her employer and to her church, but she longed to be more involved in her own family. After much prayer and a whole lot of faith, she finally quit her job in order to stay home with her daughters. You see, Beth, as good as she was in her career, always just wanted to be a mom. Her dream was finally realized after the birth of her second daughter. She would no longer be coordinating and organizing for a company. She would be doing this for her home and family.

As her children grew older, she and her husband started trying to think of ways that Beth could earn some income for their family without having to re-enter the corporate world. That is where The Quatre Group started. Greg handles a lot of the software development areas of their company and Beth works on the website development and maintenance services. Already having a background in insurance and helping her sister, Connie, to develop a website for Miami Valley Insurance Women, she decided to market her services to other insurance women's groups. She felt this was a great niche market. And, while she doesn't receive much income from this segment, she views working with these groups as another area where she can "give back" and provide service to others. She does have some other commercial accounts that she services, but she really enjoys working with the non-profit groups.

Beth continues to serve others in all areas of her life. She and her husband are now Children's Ministers for their church. She volunteers at both of her children's schools. She also provides in home child care for her nieces. She continues to spend her time giving to, helping and serving others.

Thank you Beth and may God always walk beside you so that so many people will receive the many blessings and benefits from knowing you.

BETH ROY
